Ruby Begay sings love poems for the soul. With lilting melodies and poignant words she gently peels back the layers that separate us from each other and from our own essence. Her songs are tendrils of compassion and encouragement that gently guide us toward deeper tenderness and love as we navigate this messy and magical human life. She weaves a musical tapestry of heart-softening positivity through finger picking guitar, otherworldly loop-pedal harmonies, and lyrics that are rooted in the soils of our collective human experience with the intention of living into the possibility of planetary, personal, and interpersonal healing.
Her nature-inspired lyrics remind us of our intimate connection to each other and the Earth, of the strength in gentleness, the courage of being tender, and the love that lives even in the deepest shadows of our psyches. Ruby sings for wholeness, remembering, homecoming, and the awakening of our wild belonging. She invites a space for the seeds of unbounded love to take root, grow, and blossom into our hearts and lives.
From a young age Ruby has drawn musical inspiration from a diverse range of artists: from the intensity of Nirvana to the softness of Enya, she is alight with the influence of Sarah Mclachlan, Ayla Nereo, Mamuse, Jesca Hoop, Aurora and many more. Though often compared to Joni Mitchell, her songwriting and melodic landscapes speak for themselves. Ruby weaves a unique and compelling experience of musical heart-magic through storytelling and timeless wisdom.
Ruby’s first album, Earthchild (2019), as well as her singles can be found for purchase on Bandcamp and are also available on all streaming platforms. She is currently working on her second album, to be released in 2026.
